Beaucarnea guatemalensis

Beaucarnea are very hardy and adaptable.  Branched or single trunk, this is a tree that gets better with age as the foliage develops and thickens. The trunk swells as the tree grows and can form a spectacular base up to a metre wide if planted in open ground. The foliage is lush and attractive. A versatile plant that can be grown indoors or outside as long as it gets some sunshine.  Frost-hardy.  Needs to be kept well drained.  Water sparingly in winter and feed with a general fertiliser to encourage lush growth.
